Why are Betty’s Home Letter Cushions so special?

Before a letter finds its place on your child’s shelf, it goes through a long journey — from an idea on paper, to selecting the perfect fabrics, to careful hand sewing in our studio in Poland.

An idea born from the need for something truly unique
Our Letter Cushions were not born out of market analysis or passing trends. They came from everyday life — from conversations with parents, from noticing how important cozy, meaningful spaces are for children. We wanted to create something far from plastic toys that quickly end up forgotten. We dreamed of a product that would permanently become part of your family home: adorning reading nooks, witnessing first steps, or marking birthdays and baby showers.
So we started designing our soft, large letters that can stand on a shelf, lay on a bed, or simply be hugged tightly. Pieces that combine decorative and sentimental value, and last through the years. And beyond letters, we also designed beautiful shapes like our Star Cushions and playful Anchor Cushions.
From sketch to the first prototype
It all starts on paper. We carefully sketch out each letter to ensure it’s not only aesthetically pleasing but also functional — stable when standing, easy to cuddle, and perfectly shaped for little hands. After many test versions and improvements, the design finally makes it to our cutting table, ready to come to life.
Choosing fabrics – safe, certified and stunning
From the beginning, we knew we only wanted to work with the highest-quality, certified fabrics. That’s why our materials hold the OEKO-TEX® certification, ensuring they’re safe for children and allergy-friendly. We absolutely fell in love with bouclé and velvet. You’ll find plenty of inspiration in our Boucle Collection, full of cozy, loop-textured fabrics that bring warmth to any space. Perfect for both nurseries and minimalist living rooms.
Velvet, on the other hand, adds a fairy-tale glow that changes with the light, making each Velvet Pouf or Velvet Letter Cushion look truly magical. It’s no wonder children love to stroke it and watch how the colors shift.
Hand sewing & shaping – the heart of our work
Every Letter Cushion is made by hand in our local Polish workshop. There’s no production line here, no automated machines — just skilled hands and a lot of heart. This allows our talented seamstresses to refine every curve, every corner, ensuring that the letter keeps its beautiful, soft shape and stands out with its handcrafted charm.
This also means that no two Letter Cushions are exactly alike. Each carries a small, individual story, making it a one-of-a-kind treasure for your home.
Forming & filling – the secret to perfect softness
After sewing, our letters are carefully filled with hypoallergenic, elastic fibers. This makes them delightfully squishy and long-lasting. Many children instinctively hug their new letter cushion right out of the box — and that’s the best proof that we’ve done our job well.
We then shape and hand-stitch each piece closed, checking it thoroughly. Only when we’re sure it stands beautifully or lays perfectly flat, and the seams are flawless, does it move on to packaging.
